Claire: Months 7 and 8

Month 7 - Claire is showing more and more of her bubbly personality every day.  She loves to smack her lips, she thinks it's a funny sound.  She's also getting more and more mobile every day.  She's mastered rolling across the room and now she's started to "hitch" backwards and scoout around.  She will occasionally get up on her hands and knees and rock - we'll be in trouble before we know it.

We had a "baby class" playdate with The Caulkins (Jason, Amber and Baby Tyler) and The Pierce's (Ryan, Amanda, and Baby Emma).  The Caulkins are our neighbors, but we met The Pierce's at baby class.  It's fun to see the kids growing up together and interacting.

I had another conference that I was gone over night for, and again Claire had another milestone to share when I got home (last time I was gone overnight, she rolled over).  I received a text message from Will with an audio clip of him trying to get her to say "Da Da Da" and she responded "Ma Ma Ma!"  She's been saying "mama" ever since, and hasn't picked up "dada" yet.

We had her 7 month photo session and got some really great shots.  She's so photogenic already!

Month 8 - She's starting to interact more and more.  She now reaches up to be picked up, will give "hugs" and (open mouth, slobbery) "kisses."  If any of her toys play music, she'll sit and "dance" by rocking back and forth.  She loves reading books and will sit and flip ther her books to entertain herself.  She started to clap and is pretty proud of it.  She's working on waving and has waved a couple of times.

Multi-tasking - playing her ABC drum and reading a book at the same time

Claire got her first "owie" at daycare and they sent home an "owie report" noting that she fell forward and hit her eye on a toy.  She had a small mark on the corner of her eye, but no bruising.  Tough girl!

She finally (according to Will) started saying "dada!"  We also introduced her to fruits now that she's mastered veggies.
